I can’t seem to find the right words to describe just how excited I am to be part of the Dream Mountains Machu Picchu adventure. I can’t think of a better way to travel the world than in the spirit of helping others.

I will be climbing in support of SOS Children’s Villages. This amazing organization helps orphaned and abandoned children in over 133 countries by providing them with homes and family-based care, as well as education, vocational training, and medical attention. In addition to helping these children, SOS Children's Villages offers support programs for disadvantaged families to help them stay intact during times of crisis. With your help, I hope to raise $5000 for this organization and help make a difference in the lives of the families and children that need it.

While traveling in Peru, I will be lucky enough to have the chance to visit an SOS Children's Village in Cuzco. I am excited to see first-hand the great work that they do and look forward to sharing stories of my experience with all of those who sponsor me.

This past year saw a lot of change for me, including a big move to Toronto after living my entire life in Ottawa. It was hard to leave my family and friends, but the experience has certainly taught me a lot about myself. As a result, I know that I am ready to take on the challenges that come with being a part of the Dream Mountains team. In the end, I know that all of the hard work I put into my fundraising and physical training will be more than worth it. Not only will I be achieving my own goal of climbing the Inca Trail, but by supporting SOS Children’s Villages, I will also be helping children around the world achieve theirs.
